The number one reason people give for not wanting to be a foster parent is that it would hurt too much to let the children go. Letting go is the nature of foster parenting and people that become foster parents aren’t less caring than those that don’t, but know the work that they are doing for the temporary moments is worth the sadness. What do you do when it does hurt and you aren’t sure if you can do it again? This class will explore the areas where foster parents are most likely to experience grief and loss, how to manage that grief, and how to keep going.
Childcare is not provided for this training and children are not permitted to attend.
