Up to 80% of Arizona’s children in foster care were removed due to neglect. Neglect can lead to under-development of critical areas of the brain that allow humans to self-regulate and appropriately tolerate and respond to touch or sounds. In this class we’ll explore what sensory processing or sensory integration problems look and feel like, learn a variety of activities and tools that can be utilized at home to meet the child’s sensory needs and we’ll make a sensory toy or weighted blanket to take home!
