Allowing children to test boundaries while in care can help them learn about natural consequences and the importance of making positive choices. (Texas DFPS, 2013) This training will allow the caregiver to make decisions for children in care re: social activities lasting 1 or more days, sign permission slips, and in general provide typical childhood experiences that have been denied to children in care in the past.

*In September 2014, Congress passed the “Prevent Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families” Act, P.L. 113-183. This is a Federal Law and all Licensed Foster Parents are required to participate in this training by 6/01/2016
