The Test Battery serves as a screening device for CPS case managers to help determine the need for additional services and assist in decision making regarding their clients. The Test Battery consists of several paper and pencil tests suitable for adults and adolescents with at least a 6th grade reading level.
They include: Minnesota Miltiphasic Personality Inventory 2 (MMPI-2) or MACI (adolescent), Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI); Adult or Adolescent Questionnaire (contains sentence completion, questions regarding parenting knowledge & skills and family background).
The Test Battery is offered Wednesday at either 9:30 or 4:30 at our office located at 2131 E. Broadway Road, Suite 14, in Tempe. Before calling Parenting Skills to schedule, the case manager needs to determine with the client which testing session works best for the client. Then the case manager initiates a CHILDS Service Authorization and gets the client’s Participant ID number. The case manger can then call Parenting Skills Program ay 480.967.6895 and ask to schedule an appointment for the Test Battery. If referring two or more clients who do not get along or have orders of protection against each other, please schedule them at different times. Parenting Skills requires the following information:
- Client’s name
- Participant ID number
- Age
- Are they literate?
- English or Spanish speaking?
- Case manager’s name, phone number and site code
Prior to the client’s testing appointment, Parenting Skills needs to have a copy of the approved service authorization and some information on the client and the case situation. Please include what precipitated CPS involvement and what the case manager wants the psychologist to look for in reviewing the materials. The materials (we don’t need volumes) can be faxed to 480.967.6895.
Clients can be accommodated in either English or Spanish. Spanish speaking clients should be scheduled for the 4:30 session
