Shaping Behavior Through Felt-Safety

A wide variety of parenting styles are effective when we are parenting children without trauma because we have an established relationship with them, they have experienced healthy brain development, and they trust the world. The way you have parented before isn’t wrong, it works for most kids, but it usually isn’t effective for kids that have experienced trauma. For many kids in foster care, their brains are wired for fear, shame, or getting their needs met through negative behaviors. In this class, we’ll focus on understanding the way their brains have been impacted by trauma, the “why” behind their behaviors, and a set of techniques that you’ll find far more effective!

Training is located at HRT, Inc. 1951 W. Camelback Rd., #450, Phoenix, AZ 85015. There is no child care for this class. The cost is $25 individual/$35 couple for outside agencies.

No cost for HRT families. The date and time are Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 from 9am-4pm with a break for lunch. Please register at frontdesk@hrtaz.com or 602-433-1344
